Finite and Infinite Set
Finite set
The element can be listed (limited)
Example:
- The set of all persons in your class
- Whole numbers between 5 and 45
- Natural numbers less than 30
Infinite set
The element cannot be listed (unlimited)
Example:
- Set of all point in a line segment
- Set of all natural numbers
- Set of all integers
Empty Set or Not
Null or empty set
Set with no elements
Example:
The sets of triangles having 4 sides
It is an empty set, because every triangle has 3 sides
Not an empty set
Set with elements
Example:
The set of even prime number
It is not an empty set, because even prime number is 2.
